Clarkstown was first a Town in Orange County before it
became a Town in Rockland County, and was formed in 1798.
Our government seat is New City (which also governs all of Rockland County)

*  We are approx. 41 square miles and 25 miles from midtown manhattan.

* Rockland Lake is part of the Town of Clarkstown. We have an extensive
     park system and we continue to acquire lands through the open space
     program.
